Many of you in northern climates are still wading through snow, and although it rarely snows here, it does still get chilly. The colder weather means two things. First, I spend more time inside, and second, many of the plants and insects that I photograph are gone right now. The lull give me time to go back through the previous year's work and share some of the things that got passed over at the time. It's always nice to look back through the previous year's memories.
The quieter time in the winter also gives me a little more time to work on my drawing. Drawing was always my first love and I began doing photography just as a way to get unique reference images for drawing. I discovered that I really enjoyed it, though, and it has become a second love. My favorite projects are those that involve both, and I hope to spend more time on that type of thing in 2023. Time will tell what this new year will bring, but I look forward to it, and I hope that you do to!
